The
farmhouse Il Vallone, or "big valley", is located
in the south-facing Nievole Valley, in northwest Tuscany. It is
sheltered by the Montalbano and Montevettolini hills, and looks
over the fascinating "Padule di Fucecchio" wetlands. Il
Vallone is classic Tuscany farmhouse accommodation - a welcoming
and relaxing refuge from everyday stress of modern life that began
its life as a humble farmhouse...

Originally the farmer's family lived in one half of farmhouse while the other half was occupied by animal stalls, a hay barn and farm implements. |

Il
Vallone was abandoned for many years when farming families left
the area in search of work. Time and weather reduced the farmhouse
to a ruin; crumbling bricks, covered in brambles, while the
3 hectare grounds were overgrown and high grass choked the plants.

couldn't leave it like this!
We decided to give Il Vallone a new life and with a lot of immagination, goodwill, hardwork and courage we have breathed new life into the wonderful old building, transforming it into charming farmhouse accommodation that Tuscany is famous for. |
